Dr. Gordon was blessed in 2011 to marry his wife, Holly, the love of his life.  Holly & Gordon have a son, Thomas Gordon Handy III, and a daughter, Marie Claire Handy.  Little Thomas already has his own business card as an "Orthodontist in Training"!  The Handys also have 2 Labrador retrievers, Sky and her son, Buck, a wild cat and her four kittens, a gaggle of geese, a bunch of rabbits, turkeys, deer, & who knows what other critters running around their homeplace!

Outside of orthodontics, Dr. Gordon is passionate about duck hunting (he was into the Duck Commander when only hard-core hunters were passing around bootleg VCR tapes of Phil Robertson), dog training, farming & John Deere tractors, mountain trout and inshore fishing along the NC Inner Banks, collecting & reading all types of books, & charity work to protect children in need and show them the love of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Thom is a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Forsyth County Dental Society and the Davidson County Dental Society.

Dr. Thom loves kids & loves orthodontics, and as long as the Lord blesses him with good health, he has no intention of retiring.  He's having too much fun taking care of the next generation of families and doing what he was surely made to do!

When not involved with orthodontics (or giving Dr. Gordon fatherly advice), Dr. Thom mot enjoys spending time with his growing family:  his wife of 51 years, Elaine;  his son Michael and wife Laura, and their six children, Banks, Salem, Wilson, Riggs, Burns & Sims;  his son Gordon & wife Holly, and their children, Thomas III and Marie Claire;  his brother LJ and sister Lois Ellen.   Going to ball games (lots of 'em), hunting, fishing, yard work, watching the Tarheels...it's all good if Dr. T can be with his family!
